Long's Sod Farm cuts-to-order, delivers, and unloads your sod. Sod comes in 18" x 24" slabs stacked on a 4' x 4' pallet. One pallet will fit into the bed of a full size pick up truck and weighs approximately 1500 - 2000 lbs.

Centipede prefers acidic soils and is light green in color with a coarse leaf texture. It is a low maintenance grass that requires little fertilization, infrequent mowing and has a fair shade tolerance. However, it does not tolerate traffic, excessive thatch, drought, or heavy shade. Centipede has a low salt tolerance; if it is to be used at or near the beach, sites should be chosen carefully.

Bermuda grass does well in a wide range of soils. It is dark green in color and does good in the shade and is very drought tolerant. It also holds up to foot traffic well. Bermuda likes to be mowed low between 3/4 of an inch to a 1-1/2. Bermuda looks its best when mowed every week at the same height.

Zoysia does well in a wide range of soil It is light green in color with a fine-to-medium leaf texture (depending on the variety). It withstands wear and traffic quite well and has a moderate shade tolerance. Zoysia has a high salt tolerance and is excellent for the beach. It also has a good drought tolerance. Each variety of Zoysia has slight variations in color, texture, and characteristics.
